On Wed, July 15, a new feature will be introduced to UW Theme 2.0 called the Site Actions Dashboard.
What is it?
The Site Actions Dashboard is intended for tracking key changes that users are encouraged to make on their site. This could include removing deprecated tooling or fixing common issues.
This is a UW Theme 2.0 feature, which means it was co-authored by WiscWeb and the Office of Strategic Communication’s Digital Strategy team.
The new link will show up on your left menu in the Dashboard, towards the top:

Do you have an example?
The first Site Action is to update your existing uses of the old Group block visibility option and change them to the new WordPress solution. At a later date, we’ll be deprecating the old method. This change was demoed at the July 9 Lunch and Learn session (min 6:25).

Note: Failing to update instances of the old Group block visibility setting will result in this content becoming public after November 17, 2026.
What do I need to do?
If you see an alert within your Site Actions Dashboard, you are expected to follow up:
- Click on the Site Actions link in the dashboard to review pending actions.
- Go to each page listed and update the content based on the notes for that action.
- Use the “Refresh notices” button to refresh the list after you make changes.
- Fulfill these changes by the designated deadline, if one is articulated.
- What if I have questions about the action required?
If you have questions about how to remediate the issue or how to use this tool, please schedule time to meet with a team member at Office Hours.
A note of thanks
With this release, we’d like to thank the users who assisted with this feature by providing valuable feedback in user interviews. Your insight was very helpful in determining next steps and fine-tuning the build.
