The WiscWeb team holds ‘Lunch and Learns’ on the second Thursday of each month from 12-1 p.m. We discuss new features in the UW Theme or WiscWeb service, upcoming changes, and common issues. It also gives customers a chance to meet the our staff, ask questions, interact with other WiscWeb users, and give feedback. If you would like to have a particular topic discussed, please use the form below to submit a request.
Currently, these sessions are being held virtually and streamed through our team’s YouTube channel, and the link is sent in a message to our users before each event.

Lunch & Learn Topic Requests

|With the wisc.edu redesign rolling out soon (this summer?) are there plans for stylistic, and other, related updates to the WiscWeb theme?||05/12/2022 09:41 AM|
|Google Analytics: Given the recent EU rulings that Google Universal Analytics violate GDPR, how urgent is it for WiscWeb users to switch to a different web analytics tool like GA4? Are there legal concerns with GA4?||04/27/2022 09:28 AM|
|Could you create a custom field group (or page element) that we could use for implementing a service catalog? For example, we would like to easily maintain a list of SMPH IT services and pages with details about those services. In our current self-managed WordPress instance, we have a field group with fields like name, description, category, available to, pricing, requirements, support, provider, etc. Our administrative staff can easily add a new service entry (e.g., https://it.med.wisc.edu/services/audience-response-system/) and we can easily have a catalog page that lists all the entries (e.g., https://it.med.wisc.edu/services/). I imagine that DoIT is using this for the service catalog on the it.wisc.edu site. Other schools and colleges may find the concept of a "service catalog entry" useful as well.||03/10/2021 04:01 PM|
