Gravity Forms 2.7.0 introduces the ability to use templates, which provides an easier path to creating new forms. However, we’ve chosen to hide most of these options as the advertised features and form fields aren’t allowed in WiscWeb:
- We cannot process payment information (via credit card, PayPal, or donations)
- We cannot host sensitive/restricted data (learn more about what qualifies)
- We do not offer integration with newsletter services (such as MailChimp)
Our hope is that hiding these templates will cause less confusion for our users.
Please note that you may see a window that shows a preview of these template options. This should be the only time you see the options. It will be titled “Build Forms Quickly Using Gravity Forms 2.7.” You can safely click the “X” in the top right corner of the window:
Approved templates
The following Gravity Forms templates are approved for use:
- Blank Form
- Simple Contact Form
- Advanced Contact Form
These options will be displayed to you when you click the “Add New” button within Gravity Forms:
Hidden templates
We have chosen to hide the following templates:
Forms that prompt for financial information
- Donation Form
- eCommerce Form
- Stripe Checkout Form
- PayPal Checkout Form
- Event Registration Form
- Gift Certificate Form
As a reminder, WiscWeb is not secured to host sensitive or restricted data (see our policy for more information). Therefore, financial information (credit card numbers, financial access codes, security codes, etc.) should never be collected using Gravity Forms. If you need to prompt for sensitive/restricted data within a form, please reach out to help@doit.wisc.edu to learn about safe/secure alternative solutions.
Forms that prompt for passwords
- User Registration Form
Forms that offer newsletter integration
- Newsletter Signup Form
Unfortunately, within WiscWeb, we do not offer support for MailChimp, Constant Contact, or other newsletter tools. The only supported integration is for Eloqua. To learn more about how you can integrate your Gravity Form with Eloqua, please see our KnowledgeBase document: Eloqua Integration with Gravity Forms.
