On Thursday, January 21, the WordPress UW Theme was updated to version 1.13.0 in the WiscWeb service. A full list of changes in this version of the UW Theme can be reviewed in the changelog.
Here are a few of the more noteworthy changes:
Heading styles
Certain UW Theme headings will no longer be restyled (via CSS) to all capital letters. Instead, they will be displayed exactly how they are typed into the page by the editor of the content.
Examples can be found on the UW Theme test site.
(Please note that content on this site is used for testing purposes only.)
Affected elements:
- Page titles
- Certain headings in Text Blocks (H2, for example)
- Row Headlines (Content Layout Blocks)
- H2 and H3 headings for page elements
- Group of Links menus
**Note: Not all headings in the theme are affected
As a reminder, this change will affect pages/posts that had been previously created (not just new pages/posts). Our KB documentation has more information about this change.
Button styles
Buttons in the UW Theme have also been restyled. Most notably, they will now appear a bit larger in size, with larger text.

Updates to Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
WiscWeb now aims to wrap ACF updates into each UW Theme release to allow for better testing and troubleshooting of issues. This release will bring us to version 5.9.3. More information about recent ACF updates can be found in their changelog.
