Over the past two months, various members of DoIT, University Marketing, and CALS have been focusing on key performance updates for the WiscWeb service to improve page load times. This effort was in response to reports of slow page load times for both authenticated (logged into the editing environment) and unauthenticated (not logged in, your general website visitors) users of the tool. We would like to provide an update on the status of this endeavor.
The WiscWeb Service was updated to WordPress Core version 5.2.3 on Friday, September 6. This update is a security release that aims to fix several potential vulnerabilities (mostly related to cross site scripting). More information about these changes can be found on the WordFence website.

On Friday, June 7, the WordPress UW Theme was updated to version 1.5.0 within the WiscWeb Service.
After several weeks of testing, soliciting feedback, and troubleshooting, the WiscWeb Service has updated to WordPress Core version 5.1.1 (with Gutenberg Ramp installed). Additionally, the Gravity Forms and Events Calendar plugins have been updated to their latest versions.
