Our team has been working diligently over the past few months to identify areas of improvement with our service. Specifically, we’ve been focused on providing increased performance for both authenticated (logged in) and unauthenticated users.
In our research, we found that the Events Ticket add-on (for Events Calendar) runs a total of 185 files upon page refresh for every page load of a WiscWeb site. This ultimately results in increased page load times for sites using this plugin add-on, whether the users are logged in or just publicly viewing the website.
We recently ran a query of the database to determine how many sites are using this functionality and the search returned only two project names. The primary contacts of each site were contacted directly and both confirmed that they are no longer using this add-on.
Due to low usage and potentially high impact on service performance, we have made the decision to deactivate and remove this add-on from our offering.
Please note that the Events Calendar plugin will remain in place. This change only affects the functionality that the Events Ticket add-on provided – namely, RSVP’ing to events.
